How much does it cost to enter the BISAs?
Entry is free.

What period do these awards cover?
Judges will be looking for outstanding examples of best practice and innovation during the 2016-2017 academic year. Submissions based on projects that commenced prior to the 2016-2017 academic year, are accepted provided that success of the project(s) have been recorded during this period.

How many entries can we make?
You may enter up to three categories, but you can only enter one submission per category.

How will I be notified that my submission has been received?
Once you have submitted your entry, you will receive an email confirming your school name and the category you have entered. This email will also contain your ID number.

Who can enter?
The awards are open to all British international schools. We define British international schools as those that follow all or part of the English national curriculum, including offering GCSEs or A-level options to their pupils and have a “British character” in the school. The judges’ decision on this qualification is final.

When was the closing date for entries?
Midnight, 20 September 2017.

When will I find out if we have been shortlisted?
Shortlists will be published in BIS magazine and on this website in November.

How are the entries judged?
A panel of experts choose the winners. Click on the tab Judges to see who they are.

When are the winners announced?
Announcement of the winners will be made at the gala ceremony at the Grand Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden, London on Monday 22 January 2018.

What do schools win?
Each shortlisted school receives a logo that they can use on their website and stationery that shows their shortlisting in a particular category. This alone is very useful for marketing to potential parents as a sign of quality.
They three receive complimentary tickets to the gala event held in London’s West End. Should they win, they will be presented with a trophy, and will be considered for the prestigious British International School of the Year award.

How do I book tickets for the event?
Three complimentary tickets will be offered to each shortlisted school. Additional tickets may be purchased by emailing events@jwa-venues.co.uk.

What is the programme for the evening?
7.00pm: Drinks reception
7.45pm: Dinner
9.45pm: Awards presentation begins
10.30pm: Awards presentation ends
12.00am: Carriages

What is the dress code for the evening?
The event is black tie/posh frocks.

How will I receive my ticket/s?
Tickets will be sent out via email three weeks prior to the event.

Are alumni allowed to attend the awards evening?
No. Only senior members of the school staff and governors are allowed to attend. Three complimentary tickets will be offered to each shortlisted school.
